Woodlark was built to afford views of the sea with the client after an industrial New York Loft style beach house - Specifically built in reclaimed brick.To get the most out of the site, we worked to get the living level on the top, requiring the 'There is a void to the internal plan of the house to allow for winter light to penetrate deep into the home while also connecting the trafficable spaces  The challenge with brickwork is that the heat gain of the  setting sun upon the street façade had to be reduced. As a method the top level had timber battens fixed directly to the cladding to allow for small but numerous shadows
