Hearth is a rural home Designed around the primal / communal act of sitting by a fire in the landscapeThe home is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom constructed from precast concrete panels with a second skin of Spotted gum timber battens. for solar gain regulation. The central Fireplace is placed to heat the inside of the home while also being used outside. Constructed from concrete cast with rough sawn board formwork it retains a natural tactile surface.The courtyard acts as a summer external living space to allow for an inside outside plan, with raised walkways and steps acting as informal seating to the sunken area.
