Harris House is a rural home designed to express a modern, spacious New York industrialism in an Australian context. The building is evocative of a burnt banksia pod - charred on the outside with warm, protected  openings to the interior. The home has 3 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms and is clad with a protective skin of Colorbond Matt metal sheeting. Internal timber is in a local spotted gum left in a natural state to enhance its warmth. The courtyard acts as a summer external living space to allow for an inside outside experience.Project is fully documented and now awaiting build.
